Dolphins
Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) are the most common in Tenerife and often accompany kayaks with their jumps and games. They live in small resident groups and are very sociable. On some lucky days, we can also spot Spinner Dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba), faster and more agile, crossing the water in a compact formation.

Whales
Among the whales, the most likely encounter is with the tropical Pilot Whale (Globicephala macrorhynchus), also known as the pilot whale. These cetaceans live all year round between Tenerife and La Gomera and are distinguished by their rounded head and the sociability of the group. Although we see them more often during boat trips, it is sometimes possible to spot them from a kayak on calmer and luckier days.

Turtles
In the protected waters of the Pal-Mar Marine Reserve, it is common to spot Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas), a peaceful and curious species. They often come to the surface to breathe, and it is not uncommon to see them swimming gracefully near kayaks or while snorkeling. The smaller Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta caretta) can also be seen occasionally, although they are less common.
